Back to School... Junior Year!
It's hard to believe that I have started my third year of college. I moved back into the dorms last weekend and started classes on Monday. I have already had a quiz and have assignments due next week. This semester I am taking Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Biochemistry, Bible as a Kingdom Vocation, Orientation to Nursing, Care of the Elderly Client Practicum, and racquetball. It's going to be a busy, but fun semester! Blogger is not allowing pictures to upload now, so pictures are to come...
Summer Job!
This summer I had the opportunity to go home for the summer and work at my family doctors office. Dr. Harney is not only a great doctor, but a great employer. He let me work along side of his nurses and eventually do everything they normally do minus the paperwork. I was able to give shots, EKG's, assist in exams and surgerys.
The first few days I just followed Marcy and Sonya, his RN's. After that I was allowed to start doing things by myself. I learned that doing things hands on is the best way to learn.
I was so blessed to have my first real nursing experience at Dr. Harney's office. He made the work atmosphere so much fun. His staff were absolutely great! They would always take time to teach me things that I would need to know in nursing school. I am definatly going to miss this over the next few semesters and i hope that I will be able to work with them again next summer!

Plattsburgh day 1 and 2
The first two days have been interesting to say the least. On Monday I left Huntsville at 6:30 and headed to Houston, Boston then Plattsburgh. The first two plane rides were smooth and pretty boring. The third flight was a different story... We boarded a plane that looked older than I am. We took off after a short delay due to missing luggage. About half way through the flight we had a little turbulence but nothing to be concerned about. The pilot came over the microphone and announced that we were landing in about 15 minutes and there was a storm to the north but that was of no concern. Suddenly the plane drops and starts turning. Everyone in the plane was screaming and grabbing the arm rests. There was a good 45 seconds where I was not sure that anyone was in control of the plane. That was the scariest moment of my life. We finially landed and were informed that the airport had been shut down due to the storm. I found out later that we landed in a microburst.
Today was much less eventful! I was able to visit with mason and katlyn during the day. Tonight we had a lockin at the church and all is going good so far.
Eddie got upset that he was not winning the board game and stormed off and started
To walk home.. Typical Eddie! Bruce and Doug grilled hamburgers and hotdogs fr dinner. It was great to get to see everyone again!
As for now it is bed time for the crew so I will update more tomorrow. I plan on spending the day with katlyn... Hopefully it will go great!
