Day in the snow!

The snow has been around for a few days, and today was the day I got to play in it! After church this morning Brittney and I went to her house. We tried to sled down the driveway using a metal top, but that did not work. Then we tried the sled.

After a few attempts we decided to go down together! We didn't do as well, but it was so funny.

We had a small snowball fight, then we decided to go take a picture with the neighbor's snowman!

SNOW!!!

Nashville finally got some SNOW! Last night we got about 5 inches. Sometime overnight the bottom layer of snow turned into ice which caused a VERY slippery mess! This morning our campus was completely white. I could not tell if I was walking on the side walk, or on the grass. Everywhere on campus is running out of food. Chick-fil-a has run out of chicken, blue coast has run out of food, and the calf isn't open today. Hopefully the calf doesn't run out of food tomorrow. The good news is that dominoes can still deliver!

I am going to go sledding, and possibly build a snow man tomorrow! I will update later!

Running of the Bison!

Another yearly tradition is running of the bison! Its where all of the students at Lipscomb gather in the square on the eve of the Lipscomb Belmont game. Lipscomb students bash Belmont in preparation for the game. The students then take off and run throught the neighborhoods and make as much noise as possible.

Before the running, the RA's had a pre-party in Johnson. We handed out glow sticks, noise makers, beads and face paint.

Lighting of the Green

Lighting of the Green is a yearly tradition at Lipscomb. Amy Grant comes to sing, the chorus sings, and the big Christmas tree is lit.

The event starts after dark, but a few crazy people arrive around 5. This year Santa was in the student center, which caused a few problems with dinner. Little kids were running all over the student center. Thankfully this event is just once a year!

This year at the Lighting of the Green we made a new friend! As we were walking back to our dorm there was a police man sitting on a horse. My mom had instructed me to take a lot of pictures, and we had not taken too many. We thought it would be funny to take a picture with the horse... little did we know he was photogenic. The cop on the horse told us where to stand, and on the count of three the horse swung his head into us...

So after the lighting of green we went back outside to take more pictures!

Halloween

Well this post is extremely late, but I figured better late than never!

This year we had a progressive Halloween party around campus. Each dorm handed out a different type of food. Johnson was the ending party so we had pizza, fruit and vegetable trays, and much more.

The Johnson RA's dressed up like superheroes and villains. I was Ms. Incredible!
